Interview Island Sanctuary

The Interview Island sanctuary is the largest in Andaman, dividing North Andaman Island and Middle Andaman Island over 99 square kilometers. The sanctuary was established in 1985 to protect the herd of elephants. This wildlife sanctuary area is covered by littoral forests and mangrove trees and is home to different plants and animals. It is an uninhabited place which is one of the main attractions of the Andaman and Nicobar islands. A visit to this scenic beauty will not disappoint you with its colourful wildlife and balmy breeze air. The sanctuary area was one of the places affected during the 2004 Tsunami. Indira Point LightHouse was severely damaged, and Katchal East and west were inundated but later regained.

First, you need to reach Mayabunder from Port Blair. Interview Island is located 141km away from Port Blair. So you have to take a ferry or fiber boats from Mayabunder Jetty to reach this island as no main roads lead to Interview Island.
