About Oil Palm Plantation
Little Andaman is well-known for its Red Oil Palm plantations, which cover an area of about 2000 hectares and are the largest in the world. The area was once covered with a dense forest, but it has been replaced with a planned planting of millions of palm palms.
Several pathways lead through the palm trees, and if you're lucky, you might be able to spot some elephants basking in the shade. Additionally, a palm oil mill is located on the island, which produces the oil primarily for industrial usage. If you are interested, you may pay a visit to the plant during business hours. Although there are no tour guides available, a pleasant manager will be delighted to show you around and explain the entire manufacturing process.
It is not necessary to pay an entrance charge to visit these farms. You can see this location for a maximum of two hours. It is entirely free to enter on any day of the week.
