A massive red granite dome, colloquially known as Lum Kyllang, is around 11 KMs from Mairang. The southern coast of the rock is incredibly tough and unattainable, but from its northerly and eastern edges, it could be instantly reached. The independent researchers heartily concur that the Bright red granite is a million years old. Kyllang Rocks' Southern side is decorated with huge rock pieces. It is gorgeously verdant with rhododendron trees, and Oakland is located on the north side. Ardent enthusiasts of hiking typically visit Kyllang, which stands at around 5,400 ft over sea level and is 1000 ft. above sea level. This is around 78 km from Shillong.
Best Time To Visit
Kyllang rock is a year-round resort, with no monsoons in that region of the country causing trouble from June to August. During the winter months, the overgrown rhododendrons intentionally create a great backdrop for this huge cupola. And just an add on tip - Meghalaya is chilly, so preferred stock up on woollens appropriately if you're visiting in the colder months.
No entrance charge is available and it is open every day. It is unanimously recommended that you take your food and drink as these amenities are not nearby. No fixed scheduling of access is provided, however, a visit by day is respectfully suggested.

Flight
The Umroi is the closest terminal, which is 35 km away from Shillong and connected to Guwahati and other major areas in the northeast. Guwahati is the world's nearest air terminal, connected to the major city centres of the developed country, 100 km from Shillong. You may hire a cab or can get to Shillong by catching Umroi or Guwahati.
Train
The closest train terminal is Guwahati, in which you might take a cab to Shillong or take private transportations directly from there to Nongstoin.
Road
Shillong, only 78 kilometres from Nongstoin or Kyllang Rock, maybe instantly accessed by local taxi or reliable transportation from Shillong to Mairang and from Mairang to Nongstoin.
Kyllang Rock is said to typically have electromagnetic qualities and is encircled by ancient Red Rhododendrons. Because of this magnetosphere, from this rock, nothing falls. This ideal location naturally makes it a distinctive popular destination. A walk to the top of the unique structure willingly lets you properly enjoy the wonderful surrounding countryside.
