Cherrapunji is the second wettest spot on Earth with a record number of rainfalls of 2,300 cm in the state of Meghalaya. The nearest airport to Cherrapunji is Shillong Umroi Airport. Shillong, nevertheless, is only linked by air to Kolkata.
