Do you remember witnessing a pair of twins in your class, school or your neighbourhood?
Well, I do. And ironically, there is always something mysterious about the twins, especially when you start discovering impressions about them.
Remarkably, while I was in school studying with a pair of twins, I found out some wow facts regarding twin chemistry. And they are -
-
They always have their own secret language to interact in.
-
Identical twins wear the same clothes with exactly matching colours.
-
Being twins is so much fun because one can replace another one anytime they want to. Like during exams, or when parents are scolding the one.
-
Twins siblings mostly have the same group of friends.
-
Twins have a similar capability in terms of problem-solving, decision making or identifying creative opportunities.
Accordingly, if one pair of twins is a bag full of so many wonders, well then one can go crazy while studying about an interesting village named Kodinhi where there are approximately 400 pairs of twins, i.e. the ratio of twins being born in that village is around 45 /1000.
Isn’t it fascinating?

Research
Interestingly, at one point in time, a collaborative study by researchers from several universities including CSIR-Center for Cell and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, Kerala, London and Germany, visited the area in October 2016 to discover explanations for that phenomenon.
They collected the sample of the water people drink in the village, the diet they eat and even the hair samples. And all this was done in order to identify how in the world can there be a personal village for 2000 families having 220 pairs of settled twins?
But then scientifically, nothing was proven.
Specialists are still puzzled about the rare twin birth occurrence, which is over six times more than just the world norm.
Moreover, another unexpected part here is that India is one of those countries that hold the lowest twinning frequencies. However, it is known that this hamlet known as Kodinhi has a considerable twinning rate. Research shows that there are about 220 pairs of twins, most of which are identical. The weirdness of the narrative doesn't stop but turns into a surreal thing. Several of the ladies of this city have been wedded in remote villages and cultures, and twin births are the phenomena that remain unchanged.
And yes, it is still believed to be a magical phenomenon that is taking place in this village situated 150 KM from Kochi, in the Malappuram District of Kerala.
In India where Black Magic and Tantriks are what people believe in, this revelation once again will be termed and registered under the same formula. And that's what should not be excused!!

Mystery Remains Unsolved
Though the story remains unsolved as of today. And God knows when will the scientists and researchers be able to collect all pieces of the puzzle and collaborate them together to create and present a creative but truthful story, this town is and will always be welcomed by tourists with something like a blue board that says "Welcome to God's Own Twins Village-Kodinhi." And gladly as it seems, this board favours the extraordinary births here.
So if you want to visit the same village and want to enjoy being surrounded by the twinning mystery, then my dear friends, it is very easy to do so.
