After climbing the five places, an Indian passport secured the 80th spot. Therefore, now traveling is visa-free for Indian passport holders to numerous countries. However, they require obtaining visas from 177 other countries worldwide.
Traveling is now visa-free for Indians
Indians have got this perk because India’s passport ranking has shown unbelievable progress in the Henley Passport Index.
This Index is created by Dr. Christian H. Kaelin and is updated throughout the year to reflect the changes in Visa policies.
With visa-free access, Spain, Italy and Germany have moved to 2nd. In 3rd place, there are Sweden, South Korea, France, Finland, Austria and Luxembourg with access to 189 destinations.
According to the reports, India’s neighbor Pakistan is in the 4th place because of the worst passport in the world giving access to only 33 countries.
At the bottom of the Index, it is mentioned that Afghanistan, North Korea, Turkmenistan and Papua New Guinea scored zero and are restricted for visa-free access.
Here is a list of the countries where Indians can travel visa-free- Bolivia, Bhutan, Barbados, Burundi, British Virgin Islands, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Comoro Islands, Cape Verde Islands, Dominica and Djibouti.
Besides this, Indians can also travel visa-free to – El Salvador, Fiji, Guinea-Bissau, Grenada, Gabon, Indonesia, Mauritius, Maldives, Jordan, and 37 other countries.
In 2022, Armenia and Oman have also reserved their places on the list of countries where traveling is now visa-free for Indians.
Before visiting any listed countries, research the entry criteria of that nation. A person is not supposed to work or attend school in the country where he is visiting during his visa-free stay.
If you also hold an Indian passport, then you can travel to the listed countries without any visa. Unlike its neighboring countries, the Indian passport is much more powerful. The passport of this country is ranked 85th in the list of most powerful passports in 2023.
